1.why is the text represented in the way it is and how?

Our music video uses many of the theories highlighted by andrew goodwin's theory. this particularly uses the notion of having the star image and having the audience always seeing the artists.

Representation, Genre and Audience

Genre
Theories of genre:


2. a) The genre of the music video is indie/rock, which is evident by the use of the abstract narrative and images. 
b) The positives of having a set genre allows institutions to have a structure and plan. It gives the audience expectations and therefore when producers conform to the conventions that are typical to that genre, the audience has high satisfaction. However, conforming completely to expectations of that genre, may cause the product to become boring. 
c) The music video challenges conventions of the indie/rock genre by being in an animated form. It also has no performance based footage, which is common in indie/rock music videos.
